Castello di Gabbiano 2010 Chianti Classico Riserva

Variety: Sangiovese
Region: Chianti Classico
Vintage: 2010
Alcohol: 14.0%
Colour: Dark purple with purple hue

Closure: Cork
Bouquet: Liquorice is the first thing one smells, followed by cherry jam, some tar and savoury, dry spice including the lifted aroma of cardamom
Flavour: Excellent length with a thick and generous tannin coating the tongue from the first sip. The flavours from the bouquet are well integrated and gentle. A lot of flavour there without being overwhelming.
Points: 89.5 (4+8+12+7.5+8+50)
Notes: My bbq finished with this yesterday and I have a little for retasting on Sunday night. What a way to finish the weekend. Lovely. Bought as a shareholder discount as it is distributed in Australia through one of our large, listed wine companies. $22~396Kc.
