Points: 87 (3+7+11.5+7.5+8+50)
Notes: Lovely wine to accompany our dinner last night. Most popular wine of the evening.

Points: Average 89 (534). My score 90 (3+8+12+8.5+8.5+50)
Notes: This came second in our Sangiovese tasting thanks to one member not liking the tannins in this and scoring it down. I thought it was the clear winner. This style is exceptional.

Points: 84.5 (3+8+10+6+6.5+50)
Notes: Interesting wine. Bought for $20~360Kc. Portugal blends bought grown in Mudgee, NSW are better
Variety: Sangiovese
Region/G.I.: Central Ranges, Orange
Vintage: 2014Closure: Screwcap
Colour: Cherry skin purpleAlcohol: 13.5%Bouquet: Straightforward sour cherry
Flavour: Sour cherry and some wet earth
Points: Average 87.67 (526 points). I graded 83 (3+7+10+6.5+6.5+50)Notes: 4th in our tasting. I thought this was the weakest of the wines we tasted with the caveat that wines were drunk fairly quickly so we really didn't let any of these open for an extensive period of time.

Closure: Screwcap
Colour: Cherry skin purpleAlcohol: 13.5%

Points: Average 87.83 (527 points). I graded 86(3+8+11+7+7+50)

Variety: Sangiovese
Region: Canberra District
Vintage: 2010
Closure: Screwcap
Colour: Brick Red
Alcohol: 12.5%
Bouquet: Earthy and faint cherry
Flavour: Earthy spice with distant fruit elegantly running through to a medium finish
Points: Average: 89.17 (535 points)
Notes: The winner of our Sangiovese tasting. I have now realised that this wine won a tasting of our wine group at the end of 2013 (when we had a different composition of members). I didn't think this was the strongest wine of the night and the group was split according to the amount of tannin each of us liked.
In the wine club this was a bargain $13.60 (~270 Kc).
Variety: Negro Amaro
Region/G.I.: Barossa, Barossa Valley
Vintage: 2010
Closure: Screwcap
Colour: Orange infused purple, with a particularly orange/brickish hue
Alcohol: 13.5%
Bouquet: Dark chocolate, sour cherry, (aromas of the candy "Cherry Ripe")
Flavour: Medium bodied and very even as the not really tanning to offer a taste inflection at the end. Instead, this is an interesting flavoured wine, which combines fruit that is surpassed by the almost medicinal-herb digestive like Jagermesiter or Beckerovka. There is a sourness and tautness holding this together nicely
Points: 85 (3+7+11+7+7+50)
Notes: I tasted and bought this a few years ago when touring the Barossa. The flavour is unusual and I'm not a fan of digestives, which is the flavour profile of this wine. Still, it is an interesting wine and something different. Bought for $24.60~440 Kc. Probably won't be buying more in future.
