Chapel Hill 2012 Sangiovese

Variety: Sangiovese
Region/G.I.: Fleurieu, McLaren Vale
Vintage: 2012
Closure: Screwcap
Colour: Cherry skin purple
Alcohol: 14.0%
Bouquet: Notes of cherry and red currants
Flavour: Thick with more tannin to the upper palate than most of the wines tasted. Much fruit with some earth and a hint of liquorice
Points: Average 86.50 (519 points). I graded 88(3+8+11+8+8+50)
Notes: This came last in our Sangiovese tasting although I liked its big, bold style. (Maybe not typical for this wine but it packed a punch).
